Installing a Heat Sink Blank

CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized is not covered by warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came with the product.

CAUTION: Heat sink blank installs on socket CPU2 only.

1If you are permanently removing a processor from the socket CPU2, you must install a socket protector and heat sink blank to ensure proper system cooling.

2Place the heat sink blank on the processor socket.

3Tighten the two retention screws on the heat sink blank. See Figure 3-13.

4Replace the cooling shroud. See "Installing the Cooling Shroud" on page 142.

5Replace the sled. See "Installing a Sled" on page 134.
