3Open the system. See "Opening the System" on page 46.

4If you are adding a new card, select the appropriate expansion card slot. See "Expansion Card Installation Guidelines" on page 52.

5Open the expansion-card retainer and remove the filler bracket. See Figure 3-8.

6Install the expansion card:

a Holding the card by its edges, position the card so that the card-edge connector aligns with the expansion-card connector on the system board.

NOTICE: If you are installing a SAS RAID controller card, do not press on the memory module when installing the card.

bInsert the card-edge connector firmly into the expansion-card connector until the card is fully seated.

cClose the expansion-card retainer. See Figure 3-8.
