Battery Test

NOTE The batteries must be fully charged and the UPS must not have been on battery within 24 hours of the battery test.

The Eaton 9170+ battery test runs automatically every 30 days by default and can also be performed manually. When the test is complete, the UPS automatically displays the results.

To initiate a manual test, select menu 3 1 1. Use menu 3 1 to set the battery test parameters, including the test interval and time of day.

During the battery test, the Eaton 9170+ performs an open cell test and displays the message “Open Cell Test” (firmware versions 2.22 and later) or “Open Cell” (firmware versions prior to 2.22). Both of these messages are different from the Open Cell alarm.
