No dial tone

1Check that the telephone cord is securely connected.

2Check for a dial tone.

•For LJ 3100 and LJ 3150 models: Press and hold STOP/CLEAR.

•For LJ 3200 models: Press FAX/SEND.

3If necessary, check the wall outlet by plugging in a phone and attempting to place a call.

4Plug the product phone cord into a jack for another phone line.

5If the error persists, replace the LIU.

6If, after replacing the LIU, the error persists, replace the formatter.

No document sent

The fax forwarding setting is on, and the product unsuccessfully received a fax because of low memory or some other reason.

Print the faxes in memory, and then have the sender resend the missing pages of the document.

No fax detected

The product answered the incoming call, but could not determine that the caller was a fax machine.

1Allow the product to retry sending the fax.

2Unplug the product telephone cord from the wall, plug in a telephone, and then try making a call.

3Plug the product phone cord into a jack for another phone line.

4If the error persists, replace the LIU.

No fax in (number) tries

1Check the fax number, and then try resending the fax.

2If the message appears again, try sending to another fax machine, or try again later.
