Turn the handset on and off

This section describes the procedures to turn on and off the Nortel IP Phone WLAN Handset 2210 Series and WLAN Handset 6100 Series wireless handsets.

To view the location of the keys on a specific handset, go to "Overview" (page 11).

Turning on the handset

Follow this procedure to turn on the handset.

Procedure Steps

Step Action

1Press and hold the Power on/Start call key for 2 seconds. Two chirps sound.

2Release the Power on/Start call key.

The in-service tone sounds and the extension number appears on the display.

The handset is now in standby mode.
