122Using the Battery Pack

Prerequisites

You must have the Nortel Networks WLAN Handset Desktop Charger appropriate for the model of handset.

Attention:

Desktop Charger — To charge the battery pack, always use the Desktop Charger provided with the handset. Other chargers can damage the battery pack.

Power Adapter — Use only the original plug-in power adapter provided with the handset unit.

Procedure Steps

Step Action

1Press the Power Off/End Call key to terminate any calls. Hold the key down for two seconds if you want to transition to the power off state.

The handset can be off or in standby mode when charging.

2Place the handset face-forward into the Desktop Charger. The red indicator light turns on.

3Charge the battery pack.

If the handset is in standby mode, the handset extension number and Charging... appear in the display. The handset is fully operational and can receive calls.

If the handset is off, the extension number does not appear. The handset cannot receive calls.

It is normal for the battery pack to warm up when it is recharging.

4The battery is fully charged when Charge Complete appears in the display area. The indicator light stays lighted as long as the handset is connected to the recharger.

Remove the handset from the charger.
