Handset maintenance

This section contains information you need to maintain the wireless handset.

Low power indicators

The handset monitors the power level of the battery and notifies you in these ways when the battery per level is low.

If you are not engaged in a call, you hear a loud beep.

If you are on a call, you hear a soft beep through the earpiece once every six seconds.

The battery icon appears in the upper left corner of the display. See Display area.

Cleaning the handset

Nortel IP Phone 2210, 2211, 2212 handsets occasionally need exterior cleaning. Follow these guidelines to clean the handset.

CAUTION

Do not spray liquid directly onto the handset. Always apply the cleaning agent or water to a clean cloth or paper towel first. Then wipe the cloth or paper towel over the surface of the handset.

—Do not immerse the handset in any liquid.

—Do not use furniture polishes, waxes, or plasticizer-based cleaners.

—Do not use pre-moistened towelettes containing lanolin, aloe, glycerin, or other skin care agents.

—Do not use any solvents such as acetone or mineral spirits.
