Security

The Security screen (System Info > Admin Setup > Security) shown in Figure 2-59 is used to set the ViewStation passwords. Use of passwords is not required for the ViewStation.

Admin Password: The admin password is used to grant or restrict access to the administrative features of the ViewStation.

Meeting Password: The meeting password is used to grant or restrict access to the non-administrative features to the ViewStation Web interface.

Software Update Password: The purpose of the software update password is to prevent accidental updating of the ViewStation software from the far site. This password is automatically entered by the ViewStation from the initial setup. The software update password may be changed at any time.

Multi-Point Password: A conference password is occasionally required for a multi-point conference that uses a third-party MCU.

Text box: If left blank, no multi-point password is selected. If the text box is populated, the ViewStation uses this password to connect to multi-point videoconferences.
