ptiflash

Usage

ptiflash [-a <action>] [-t] [-s <ServerName>] -f <FileName> [-p <PortNum>] ptiflash -f <FileName>

Summary

The ptiflash command is a flash update utility that installs flash image files.

SuperTrak flash image files update firmware. SuperTraks do not run software.

Subsystem flash image files update firmware and software.

Download the flash image file from the Promise website: www.promise.com.

For SuperTrak, put the flash image file on the PC where the SuperTrak card is installed.

For embedded subsystems, you need a TFTP server accessible from the enclosure's management port. Put the flash image file on the TFTP server.

For in-band subsystems, put the flash image file on the local host.

Options

-a <action>

Specifies the action to perform.

start

(Default) Starts the flash process.

 

Note: Run only one flash process at a time.

versioninfo

Subsystems only. Displays the version and build

 

information of all the flash images of all controllers or the

 

specified controller.

-t

Subsystems only. Specifies a TFTP server. Required for

 

embedded subsystems.

-s <servernameipaddress>

 

Subsystems only. Specifies the hostname or the IP

 

address of the TFTP server which contains the flash

 

image file.

-f <filename>

Specifies the filename of the flash image file.
