Network connection

Insert a recommended PCMCIA-compatible Ethernet card into the PC card slot at the rear of the digital video recorder.

This will enable you to view images on this unit and make menu settings through the network (LAN) from a personal computer. ID1, ID2 or ID3 and passwords are required.

Note:

Up to four computers can be connected simultaneously to the DVR main unit. However, if four computers are already connected and then another computer is connected at a user level that is higher than the user levels that are currently being used, any users who are logged on at lower levels will be forcibly logged off, and the computer being connected at the higher level will have priority. If all four computers that are already connected are connected at user level ID1, the last user to connect will be disconnected.

The PC card slot is for 16 bit 5 V cards only. Do not use 32 bit card bus types of card, as they may damage the PC card slot of the digital video recorder.

When connecting directly to the computer (without using an Ethernet hub)

• When connecting via an intranet (using an Ethernet hub)
