DVD Playback
Playback the playback-only discs
DVD VIDEO
1 Turn on the TV and switch the TV channel to the external “VIDEO” or “AV” channel connected to the VIDEO/AUDIO output jacks.
2 Press POWER. The recorder is turned on.
3 Press OPEN/CLOSE to open the disc tray.
4 Load a disc onto the tray.
•Position it with the printed title side facing up, align it with the guides.
•When you load a

disc tray.
•When the disc is being identified (“LOAD” is displayed on the Front Panel Display), the DISC IN indicator on the front panel is blinking. The indicator lights when the disc is finished being identified (“LOAD” disappears).
•Some discs start playback automati- cally.
6 Press PLAY to start playback.
•If you’re playing some

•When starting playback from the place last stopped, go to step 8.
•When starting playback from the beginning, go to step 9.
Resume Function
This recorder stores the location where you stopped the disc. This function enables you to resume the playback from the place last stopped.
8 Press PLAY after pressing
■STOP in the step 7.
•Play resumes from a point slightly before the point where it was stopped.
•Resume information will not be canceled if the power is turned off.
•Resume function may not work on some discs.

The resume function is canceled in the following cases.
•When you press ■STOP during auto- playback.
•When you open the disc tray.
•When you display the DiscNavi screen.
•When a

Playback From the Beginning

NOTE
•When taking out a disc, first press ■STOP before taking out the disc. When the OPEN/CLOSE is pressed during playback, it may take a short time for the tray to open.
