While you are playing a disc, this function jumps to the beginning of the next chapter/ track (Forward) or the current chapter/track (Reverse) and automatically starts playing that chapter/track.

Press SKIP		or	SKIP during
playback.
•	Playback skips forward one chapter/
	track for each time SKIP			is
	pressed.
•	If you press		SKIP and playback
	begins, and you then press			SKIP
	again within 5 seconds, playback
	returns to the beginning of the
	previous chapter/track.

NOTE

•On some discs, the skip functions are disabled.

Fast Forward/Fast Reverse (Search) Function on the Recorder

Press and hold SKIP / for

more than 2 seconds on the front of

the recorder.

• The search speed is 2 (about ⋅8).

NOTE

•On some discs, the fast scan function is disabled.

•On DVD discs and Video CDs, audio and subtitles are not played back during the fast scan playback.

•With a DVD disc, you cannot search past a title. Playback starts from the beginning of the title.

•During the fast scan playback, the sound may not come out.

•When the fast forward search function is used during playback of a DVD video disc, the speed may differ from that described in this manual depending on the disc and the scene being played back.

Slow-Motion

1 Press SLOW during playback.

•Three speeds are available. Each time SLOW is pressed, the speed of slow-

motion playback changes in the following sequence:

1 (about ⋅1/2) 2 (about ⋅1/8) 3 (about ⋅1/16)

2 Press PLAY to return to the

normal playback.

•On some discs, the slow-motion playback functions are disabled.
