LOCATING THE PRINTER

Beforeyou startunpackingand settingup yourprinter,make sure that you have a suitableplaceon whichto locateit. By “a suitableplace”,we mean:

A firm, level surfacewhichis fairly vibration-free

Awayfrom excessiveheat (such as directsunlight,heaters,e(c)

Away from excessivehumidity

Away from excessivedust

Supplyit with“clean”electricity.Do not connectit to the samecircuitas a large,noise-producingappliancesuch as a refrigerator.

Make sure the line voltage is the voltage specified on the printer’s identificationplalc.

To disconnectthe printerthe plug has to be disconnectedfrom the wall socket,whichhas to be locatedcloseto the printer,and easy to access.

Installthe printer where there is sufficientroom for the paper and any paperbeing fed in or printedout.

If youareconnectingyourprinterwitha parallelcable,makesurethatthe cableis within2m (6ft) of the printer.An RS-232connectionusing the

optionalSPC-8Kinterfacecan be made over longerdistances.
