10.3.5 Gain Control
The gain control of the IVS can be set to automatic or manual. When set to automatic, the brightness of the video image is adjusted electronically.
If automatic control is selected, the IVS outputs the best possible image brightness at all times. Light changes in front of the film camera are compensated by the IVS and the brightness appears almost unchanged.
Gain control can be adjusted in two different ways.

Check all settings on a correctly adjusted monitor.
•By pressing the MGC key Ï the setting alters between manual and automatic control. An LED above the MGC key lights when manual gain control (MGC) is selected Aphoto.
•If manual gain control is selected (LED is on), the brightness of the video image can be manually altered. By using the Ê or Ë key brightness can be increased or decreased. The automatic compensation of different light levels in front of the camera is suppressed.
