Top power board

Before you begin:

vRead “Installation guidelines” on page 77.

vRead the safety notices at “Safety notices (multilingual translations)” on page 201.

vRead “Handling static-sensitive devices” on page 200.

Complete the following steps to remove the top power board.

1.Turn off the server (see “Turning off the server” on page 8), and disconnect all power cords and external cables.

2.Remove the top cover assembly (see “Top cover assembly” on page 137), and set it upside-down on a clean work surface.

3.Remove the two screws securing the power board to the top cover.

4.Pull the power board away from the cover.

5. To install the top power board, reverse the above steps.

Hard disk drive backplane

Before you begin:

vRead “Handling static-sensitive devices” on page 200.

Complete the following steps to remove the hard disk drive backplane.

1.Turn off the server (see “Turning off the server” on page 8), and disconnect all power cords and external cables.

2.Open the cover (see “Opening the cover” on page 88).

3.Remove the power supplies (see “Removing and replacing a hot-swap power supply” on page 90).
