For the SCSI test error codes, see “SCSI test error codes” on page 164.

SCSI Disk Buffer Test

This test writes logical blocks of data to the internal buffer on the disk drive. The same logical blocks of data are then read from the drive buffer and compared to the original data. If the SCSI hard disk drive does not have an internal buffer, you cannot select this test.

SCSI Disk Self Diagnostic Test

Select this choice to run the diagnostic tests on the SCSI disk drive.

To run the test, complete the following steps:

1.Select SCSI Disk Self Diagnostic Test, and press Enter.

2.Choose the parameters on the screen, and select Continue.

Note: You cannot quit the SCSI Disk Self Diagnostic Test. You must wait until the entire disk self test completes.

SCSI Disk Read Test

Use this test to make sure that the SCSI drive is reading correctly. This test sequentially and randomly reads logical blocks from the SCSI hard disk drive. If you do not specify a starting and ending block number, block 0 through the last block are tested.

To run the SCSI disk read test, complete the following steps:

1.From the main menu, select SCSI, and press Enter.

2.Select SCSI Disk Read Test, and press Enter. A default parameter screen appears.
