Configuring the Firewall Rules policy
Firewall rules determine how a system operates when it intercepts network traffic, permitting or blocking it. You create and manage firewall rules by applying a Firewall Rules policy with the appropriate settings.
The Firewall Rules policy provides access for:
Creating new Firewall Rules policies
Viewing and editing firewall rules
Creating a new firewall rule or firewall group
Deleting a firewall rule or group
Viewing firewall client rules
Creating new Firewall Rules policies
To add a new policy that is not specific to a node, create a policy in the Policy Catalog. See Policy Catalog on page 119 for details. To add a new policy specific to a node, follow the instructions in this section.
To create a Firewall Rules policy:
1In the console tree, select the group or computer to which you want to apply the policy.
2On the Policies tab, expand the Firewall feature.
3In the Firewall Rules line, click Edit.
The policy name list becomes active.
4Do one of the following:
Select one of the preconfigured policies in the list, and click Apply.
