IPS Policy exception rules

The IPS exception rules list displays client exception rules that you can view and edit.

To edit the exception rules:

1Click Add to add a rule.

The Exception Rule dialog box appears.

2Type a description for the rule.

3Select the application the rule applies to from the application list, or click Browse to locate the application.

4Select Exception rule is Active to make the rule active.

Exception applies to all signatures, which is not enabled and selected by default, applies the exception to all signatures.

5Click OK.

The new rule appears in the list.

Double-click a rule, or select a rule and click Properties. The Exception

Make a rule

Select or clear the Exception rule is Active checkbox in the Exception

Delete a rule

Select a rule and click Remove.

 

 

Exception rules list

The exception rules list displays exception rules relevant to the client and provides summary and detailed information for each rule.

Exception

The name of the exception.

 

 

Signature

The name of the signature against which the exception is created.

 

 

Application

The application that this rule applies to, including the program name

 

and executable file name.
