EVFU Command Codes

The EVFU command codes (top–of–form, vertical tab, start load, and end load) used in EVFU operation function the same way for both Centronics and Dataproducts interfaces.

Although the EVFU command codes function the same way, there are two major differences between the interfaces:

Each interface requires a different hex code that specifies a channel number or command code.

The Dataproducts interface requires the presence of a paper instruction (PI) in order for the EVFU to function correctly.

EVFU Programming Example

An example of loading a 20 line form program is shown in Figure 6–1 , and the result of the program in shown in

NOTE: Each entry must be made for every line of form.

Filler channels are used for lines that will not be used by the print program. Any channel except Channel 1 can be used as a filler. In Figure 6–1, Channels 2 and 8 are used as sample fillers. Details of this procedure are described in the following pages.
