CONFIGURING YOUR ROUTER

The IPX Setup dialog box is shown below:

IPX Setup dialog box

For Network, type in an 8-digit IPX address of the form _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _, where each _ is a hexadecimal number from 0 - 9 or A - F. This is your network address.

There are three choices for IPX Spoofing that can be used individually or in combination.

The defaults for these spoofing options are on.

Choices:

Novell RIP Spoofing helps prevent a phone line from being raised when RIP packets from Novell servers advertising networks are encountered. This feature can help save on long distance line charges.

Watchdog Spoofing helps prevent a phone line from being raised when Watchdog packets from Novell servers checking on client connections are encountered. This feature can help save on long distance line charges.
