5.7 Stopping the AS-Interface safety monitor
If the AS-Interface safety monitor is in protective operation, it can only be switched to configu-
ration operation by ASIMON with the Stop command in the Monitor menu or by clicking the
button.
A Stop command is accepted by the AS-Interface safety monitor when
the valid password is entered.
no AS-Interface telegrams are present on the bus, even without password.
A Stop command is treated similarly to the activation (shutting-down) of a monitoring device,
i.e. depending on the configured output device, it may take up to one minute before the
AS-Interface safety monitor switches off the safe switching outputs and switches to configura-
tion operation.
Following execution of the stop command, the status bar provides information about the chan-
ge to configuration operation.
5.8 Configuration documentation

Configuration log

The configuration log serves as safety-relevant documentation of the application (see chapter
5.4 and chapter 5.5). It contains all information about the configuration of the AS-Interface sa-
fety monitor.
The provisional configuration log is to be used by the safety officer for reviewing the configu-
ration of the AS-Interface safety monitor and the safety-relevant AS-Interface application.
The final configuration log is to be used by the safety officer for documenting the configuration
of the AS-Interface safety monitor and the safety-relevant AS-Interface application. It is an im-
portant part of the safety-relevant documentation of your application and must be filed with the
safety-relevant documentation.
Note
When replacing a defective safe input slave, it is possible to change from protective operation
to configuration operation even without a connected PC by using the AS-Interface safety mo-
nitor service button. Further information can be found in the operating manual for the AS-Inter-
face safety monitor.
Note
The configuration log is always written in English.
