Cutter option

•If you do not have a cutter, go to Step 4, on page 35.

•If you do have a cutter, feed the fanfold labels through the cutter.

Caution • The cutter blade is sharp. Do not touch the blade with your fingers.

4.Slide in the media guide so it just touches, but does not restrict, the edge of the labels.

5.Close the printhead lever.

When the ribbon has run out or must be changed, remove the used ribbon from the take-up spindle.

•If the ribbon has run out, follow the instructions below.

•If the ribbon has not run out, open the printhead and tear or cut the ribbon as close to the ribbon take-up spindle as possible. Follow the instructions below.

Note • Do not cut through the ribbon on the take-up spindle. Using the release knob allows you to slide the ribbon off the spindle. Cutting may damage the spindle.

1.Open the printhead.

The illustration below and the table that follows show the ribbon take-up spindle. The inset shows the notches in the spindle.
