Add Policy – Open s the “Policy Configurat ion” page. Ent er a policy name and
description on this page, and click Add to open the “Policy R ule Settin gs” page.
Enter the criteria used to service ingress traffic on this page.
Remove Policy – Deletes a specified policy.
Policy Configuration
Policy Name — Name of policy map. (Range : 1-16 chara cters)
Description – A brief descriptio n of a policy map. (Range : 1-64 cha racters)
Add – Adds the specified policy.
Back – Returns to previous page with maki ng any change s.
Policy Rule Settings
- Class Settings -
Class Name – Name of class map.
Actio n – Shows the service prov ided to ing ress traffic by setting a C oS, DSCP, or
IP Precedence value in a matching packet (as specified in Match Class Settings on
page 14-2).
Meter – The maximum throughput and burs t rat e.
- Rate (kbps) – Rate in kilobits per second.
- Burst (byte) – Burst in bytes.
Exceed Action – Specifies whether the traffic that e xceeds t he sp ecifi ed ra te will
be dropped or the DSCP service lev el will be re duced.
Remove Class – Deletes a class.

Class Name – Name of class map.
Action
– Configures the service provided to ingress traffic by setting a CoS, DSCP,
or IP Precedence value in a matching packet (as specified in Match Class Settings
on page 14-2). (Range - CoS: 0-7, DSCP: 0-63, IP Precedence: 0-7,
IPv6 DSCP: 0-63)
Meter – Check this to define the maximum throughput, burst rate, and the action
that results from a policy violation.
- Rate (kbps) – Rate in k ilobits per second. (Range: 1-100000 kbps or maximum
port speed, whichever is lower)
- Burst (byte) – Burst in bytes. (Range: 64-5 24288 )
Exceed – Specifies whethe r the traffic that exceeds th e sp ecified rate or burst will
be dropped or the DS CP se rvi ce l evel will b e redu ced.
- Set – Decreases DSCP priority fo r out of co nformanc e traffic. (Range : 0-63).
- Drop – Drops out of conformance t raffic .
Add – Adds the specified criteria to the policy ma p.
