• TFTP Server IP Address – The IP addr ess of a T FTP serv er.
• File Type – Specify opcode (op erationa l code) to co py firmwa re.
• File Name – The file name should not contain slashes (\ or /), the leading letter of
the file name should not be a period (.), and the maximum l eng th for file names on
the TFTP server is 127 characters or 31 characters for files on the swit ch.
(Valid characters: A-Z, a-z, 0-9, “.”, “- ”, “_”)
• Source/Destination Unit – Stack unit. (Range: 1 - 8)
Note:
Up to two copies of the system software (i.e., the runtime firmware) can be stored
in the file directory on the switch. The currently designated startup version of this
file cannot be deleted.
Downloading System Software from a Server
When downloading runtime code, you can specify the destinat ion file name to
replace the current image, or first download the file us ing a differen t name fro m the
current runtime code file, and then set the new f ile as the star tup file .

– Click System, File Management, Copy Operation. Select “tftp to file” as the
file transfer method, enter the IP address of the TFTP server, set the file type to
“opcode,” enter the file name of the so ft ware t o d own lo ad , s elec t a file on th e s witc h
to overwrite or specify a new file name, then click Apply. If you replaced the current
firmware used for startup and want to start using the n ew op eration cod e, reb oot the
system via the System/Reset menu.
