File Management Commands
Managing Firmware
Firmware can be uploaded and downloaded to or from a TFTP server. By sav ing
runtime code to a file on a TFTP server, that file can later be downloade d to the
switch to restore operation. The switch can also be set to us e new firm ware w ithout
overwriting the previous version.
When downloading runtime code, the destination file na me can be specified to
replace the current image, or the file can be first downloaded using a different n ame
from the current runtime c ode fi le, and then the new file set as the star tup file.
Saving or Restoring Configuration Settings
Configuration settings can be uploaded and downloaded to and from a TFTP se rver.
The configuration file can be later downloaded to restore switch settings.
The configuration file can be downloaded under a n ew fil e nam e a nd th en set a s the
startup file, or the current startup configuration file can be specified as the
destination file to directly replace it. Note that the file “Factory_Default_Config.cfg”
can be copied to the TFTP server, but cannot be used as the destinat ion on the
switch.
