Command Usage
If user input is detected within the timeout interv al, the sessi on is kept ope n;
otherwise the session is terminated.
This command applies to both the local conso le and Telnet co nnections .
The timeout for Telnet cannot be disabled.
Using the command without specifyin g a time out restores th e default se tting.
Example
To set the timeout to two minutes, enter this command:

password-thresh
This command sets the password intrusion thre shold w hich lim its th e numb er of
failed logon attempts. Use the
no
form to remove the threshold value.
Syntax
password-thresh
[threshold]
no password-thresh
threshold - The number of allowed password attempts.
(Range: 1-120; 0: no threshold)
Default Setting
The default value is three attempts.

Command Usage
When the logon attempt thr eshold is reached, the system int erface becomes
silent for a specified amount of time before allowing the next logon attempt.
(Use the silent-time command to set this interval.) When this threshold is
reached for Telnet, the Telnet logon interface shuts down.
Example
To set the password threshold to five attempts, enter this command:
