Chapter 4: Basic Management Tasks
This chapter describes the basic functions required to s et up ma nagem ent acc es s to
the switch, display or upgrade operating software, or reset the system.

Displaying System Information

You can easily identify the system by displaying the device name, location and
contact information.
Field Attributes
System Name – Name assigned to the switch system.
Object ID – MIB II object ID for switch’s network managemen t subsystem.
Location – Specifies the system location.
Contact – Administrator responsi ble for the syste m.
System Up Time – Length of time the management agent has been up.
These additional parameters are displayed for the CLI.
System Description – Brief description of device type.
MAC Address – The physical layer address for this switch.
Web Server – Shows if management access via HTTP is enabled.
Web Server Port – Shows the TCP port number used by th e web interface.
Web Secure Server – Shows if ma nagement acc ess via HTTPS is enabled .
Web Secure Server Port – Shows the TCP port used b y the HTTPS in terface.
Telnet Server – Shows if management acces s via Teln et is enabled.
Telnet Server Port – Shows the TCP port used by the Telnet in terface.
Authentication Login – Sho ws the user login au then ticatio n sequence.
Jumbo Frame – Shows if jumbo frames are enabled.
Jumbo Frame Size – Configured size of jumbo fram e.
POST Result – Shows results of the power-on self -test
