dot1x re-authenticate
This command forces re-authentication on all ports or a specific interface.
Syntax
dot1x re-authenticate

- unit - Stack unit. (Range: 1-8)
- port - Port number. (Range: 1-26/50)

The re-authentication process ver ifies the conn ected client’s u ser ID and
password on the RADIUS server. During re-authentic ation, the client remains
connected the network and the proc ess is handled transparently by the d ot1x
client software. Only if re-authentication fails is th e port blocked.

This command enables periodic re-authentication for a specified port. Use the
no
form to disable re-authentication.

The re-authentication proce ss verifies the connected cli ent’s user ID and
password on the RADIUS server. During re-authentication, the client remains
connected the network and the process is handled transparent ly by the dot1 x
client software. Only if re-authentication fails is the port blocked.
The connected client is re-a uthentic ated after th e interval specified by th e
dot1x timeout re-authperiod
command. The default is 3600 seconds.
