Command Usage
When RFC 1583 compatibility is enabled, only cost is used when choo sing
among multiple AS-external LSAs advertising the same destination. When
disabled, preference is based on type of path, using cost o nly to break ties
(see RFC 2328).
All routers in an OSPF routing domain should use the same RFC fo r
calculating summary routes.
If there are any OSPF routers in an area exchan ging summ ary informat ion
(specifically, ABRs) which have not been upgraded to OSPFv2, this command
should be used on the newly upgraded OS PFv2 routers to ensure
compatibility with routers still running older OSPFv2 code. Once all systems
have been upgraded to newer OSPFv 2 code, us e the no form of this
command to restore compatibility for all systems with RFC 2328.

This command generates a default external route into an autonomous system. Us e

interface-metric - Metric assigned to the default route.

Command Usage
The metric for the default extern al ro ute is u sed t o cal culate th e path c ost f or
traffic passed from other routers within the AS out through the ASBR.
When you use this command to redistribute routes into a routing d om ain ( i.e .,
an Autonomous System, this router automatically becomes an Autonomous
