Scan Mode

Selects the type of image you are scanning:

Black and White—Scans an image at one bit per pixel.

Grayscale—Scans an image at eight bits per pixel; when scanning a color image in black and white, this option retains the greatest tonal range.

Text Enhanced—Scans an image in grayscale, converted to black and white using Canon Image Trust technology.

Scan Resolution

Selects the resolution in dots per inch. Use the scroll bar to view the various resolutions, or choose Custom for further selections. Generally, a higher resolution provides better image quality.

Selection

N For details on the scan options you can set, please use the on-line documentation for the MultiPASS Desktop Manager. Simply click the ? on the toolbar and select Scanning to learn all about the scan options.
