Using Switch Boxes

Canon does not recommend using a switch box with the MultiPASS. To use more than one printer, it’s a good idea to add a second parallel port to your computer.

If the Power Goes Out

If power to the MultiPASS L6000 is cut off, any documents stored in its fax memory will be lost. (The MultiPASS automatically prints a list of the lost documents when power is restored.) Because of this, be sure to print documents stored in memory or resend them as soon as possible.

While the power is out, the MultiPASS will receive telephone calls if a telephone is attached. However, you cannot make calls (unless you are using a cordless phone) or send or receive faxes.

Avoid unplugging the MultiPASS unless absolutely necessary. This is the same as a power outage.

Memory Clear Report

The Memory Clear Report summarizes the documents that were cleared from memory when a power failure occurred. This report is generated automatically.

If you experience a power failure, any documents stored in memory will be lost.

When you turn on the MultiPASS after power is restored, the MultiPASS automatically prints out a list of documents that were stored in the memory at the time of the power failure.
