When storing toner cartridges, follow these guidelines:

Store cartridges in their protective bags. Do not open a protective bag until you are ready to install the cartridge in the MultiPASS.

Store cartridges where they will not be exposed to direct sunlight.

Store cartridges right side up—not on their ends or upside down. This helps prevent the toner particles from settling to one side of the cartridge, which may cause streaks or lines on your printed pages.

Store cartridges in areas where the temperature is comfortable and stable. Avoid areas with high temperatures, high humidity, or extreme changes in either.

Store cartridges away from a monitor’s CRT, disk drives, and diskettes. The cartridge contains a magnet that could destroy the image data in the CRT or data on the disks.

After opening the toner cartridge’s protective bag, follow these guidelines:

The cartridge has a handle in the center. Always hold the cartridge by its handle.

Do not expose a cartridge to direct sunlight. Do not expose it to room light for more than five minutes.

Do not open the drum’s protective shutter on the bottom of the cartridge. Avoid touching the protective shutter.

Do not attempt to disassemble the cartridge.

Remove the toner cartridge from the MultiPASS before transporting the unit. Store the cartridge in its original protective package or wrap it in a thick cloth to avoid exposure to light.

C Do not incinerate the cartridge. The toner powder is flammable.
