Step 2 Check the configuration by executi ng dspc lksrc.
If you have specified an external clock source, use the Cisco View application or the CLI comm and
cnfextclk to select the T1 or E1 l in e a nd t he im pedance of the line. The synt ax f or cnfextclk is:
cnfextclk <ClockType> <Impedance>
ClockType can be 1 for T1 or 2 for E1. Impedance can be 1 for 75 ohms, 2 for 100 ohms, or 3 for
120 ohms.
Step 3 Specify the Stratum level of th e clo c k so u rce (Stratum 3 or Stratu m 4 ) .
cnfclklevel <level>
The level can be 3 for Stratum 3 clocking, or 4 for Stratum 4 clocking.
Note For external clocking sources, Stratum 3 is supported by the PXM-UI-S3 card; Stratum 4
sources are supported by th e PXM1-UI back card. Either Stratum 3 or Stratum 4 can be us ed
as internal clocking sources.
Configuring PXM1 Card-Level Parameters, Lines, and Ports
This section describes how to con figure c ard-level features, activate a physical line, a nd c on figu re
logical elements such as a port .
Refer to the section titled “Sequence of Configuration Tasks, page 6-2” for background information on
these types of tasks.
Step 1 Optionally, you can modify the resource partitio ning for the whole car d by executing cnfcdrscprtn. You
can view resource part itioning through dspcdrscprtn.
cnfcdrscprtn <number_PAR_conns> <number_PNNI_conns> <number_TAG_conns>
•number_PAR_conns is the nu m be r of c onnections in the range 0–32767 for PAR.
•number_PNNI_conns is the number in the range 0–32767 available to PNNI.
•number_TAG_conns is the number of connections in the range 0–32767 for MPLS.
For example, you could reserve 10,000 co n ne cti o ns f o r eac h co nt roll er o n a P X M 1 w it h:
cnfcdrscprtn 10000 10000 10000
Step 2 Activate a line by executing addln:
addln -ds3 <slot.line> | -e3 <slot.line> | -sonet <slot.line>
•-ds3 indicates a T3 line pa ra m et e r f ol low s.
•-e3 indicates an E3 line p ar am et er f o llow s .
•-sonet indicates an OC-3 or OC-12 line parameter follows.
•slot is the slot number for the PXM1. If the switch has a redundant pair of SRMs, execute addln
again for those slots.
