Release 1.1.31, Part Number 78-11215-03 Rev. B0, May 2001
Chapter6 Card and Service Configuration Frame Service Module Features
Hot standby with 1:1 redundancy (see sections for individual FRSM card types).
Resource partitioni ng a t the card level or port level .
Bit error rate test (BERT) functi ons for all card types except the HSSI card types. For a desc ription
of BERT on the MGX-FR SM-2T3E3, see the f orthcoming section t itled Bit Error Rate Testing on
an Unchannelized T3 or E3 FRSM. Running a BERT session on an MGX-FRSM-2CT3 or an
eight-port FRSM requires a set of MGX-SRM-3T3s in the system. For a description of BERT on
these cards, see the section ti tled Bit Error Rate Testing Through an MGX-SRM-3T3.
User-selectable weighted fair q ue ui ng o r fixed- r a te qu eu in g . T he user can select either fixed-rat e
queuing to provide highest egress port speed while reducing quality of service or weighted fair
queuing to provide max imum quality of servic e but slower egress port sp eed. This feature appl ies to
the FRSM-2CT3, FRSM-2T3E3, and FRSM-HS2 cards.
Subrate support is provided for the MGX-FRSM-2T3E3 card. This feature applies to the
MGX-FRSM-2T3E3 card only when used with Digital Link equipment.
Note Subrate capability is not sup por te d on Kentr ox e qui pm ent.
Zero CIR Service for FRSM-VHS and FRSM-8T1 and FRSM-8E1 cards
