The MGX 8230 incorporates a fan t ra y ass emb l y (with eight fans) located on th e l e ft s i de o f th e c ar d

cage to pull ambient cooling air into the system through openings between front card faceplates, over

the boards in the card cage, and out through air exhaust openings on the left side of unit. Figure1-6 is

an illustration of the MGX 8230 fa n tray a ssembl y . Th e cooli ng syste m inco rporate s the f ollo wing de sign

features:

•-48 VDC fans with rotation sensing

•N+1 fan redundancy

•Hot pluggable (if done quickly) Fan Tray Assembly
