Chapter6 Card and Service Configuration DS3 Loopback Test
Step 1 Select a node with PXM-T3 back c ar d.
Step 2 Disable the receive FEAC validation crit er ia by usi ng C LI co m m and, cnfln -ds3 <slot>.<port>
-rfeac 3.
Step 3 Using dspln -ds3 <slot>.<port>, check that the FEAC validation code is disabled and the line is n o t in
loopback.
Step 4 Put the HP cerjac tester in loopback mode by pressing the loopback up button.
Step 5 From the tester, send a pattern and verify that it is not received back on the tester.
Step 6 Check that dsplog does not show any errors or alarms log ged.
Pass Criteria:
•Disabling the FEAC validation code put the line in no loop.
•Anything transmitted from the t es t er is no t r e ceived ba ck o n th e t ester when FEAC codes are
disabled on the DS3 interface.
•No errors logged on the console or the log.
Configure DS3 Loopback Co des from the Standby PXM1 Car d
To verify that DS3 loopback codes canno t be co nfigu r ed f rom th e s t an dby P X M - 1 c ar d :
Step 1 Select a node with redundant PXM-T3 cards.
Step 2 Log on to the standby card.
Step 3 Configure the line using cnfln -ds3 <slot>.<port> -felpbnum 30.
Step 4 Try to configure the transmit FEAC code to be dsx3SendNoCode by using CLI c ommand, cnfln -ds3
<slot>.<port> -tfeac 1.
Step 5 Check that CLI rejects the co m m a nd a nd fa il s to ac cep t it.
Step 6 dsplog shows logs an error or a alarm logged.
Step 7 On the tester (for example, HP cer ja c t es te r), check that the code for dsx3SendNoCode has not been
received.
Pass Criteria:
•DS3 loopback codes c annot be invoked from the s t an dby card.
