Troubleshooting the DIVAT/A
Dumping the DIVAT/A Memory
If a software fault condition occurs while you are using the DIVAT/A (‘Fault’ LED is on), you
may need to capture a memory dump to a file. This file can be used by Eicon support to
determine what caused this condition.
Follow the steps below to obtain a DIVAT/A dump:
1Exit your dialer program (for example, Dial-Up Networking for Win95/98) and start a
terminal-emulation program such as HyperTerminal.
2Type at then press Enter. The mini-monitor menu appears.
Note: If the DIVAT/A does not respond to AT commands, even if you exit and restart
your terminal-emulation program, close all applications, shut down your computer, and
turn it on again. Repeat steps 1 and 2.
If the DIVAT/A still doesn't respond to commands, hold down the reset button (located
on the back of the DIVAT/A) for at least five seconds; this forces the DIVA T/A to enter a
sub-layer monitor mode. Start a terminal-emulation program and type at. The sub-layer
mini-monitor menu should appear. Type at@quit, and proceed to step 3.
3Type at@dump (this command is case sensitive) and press Enter. The system responds
with the follow ing display :
Please start XMODEM reception of dump file
4Use the XMODEM transfer protocol built into your terminal-emulation program to
receive the dump file. After the transfer is complete, a message similar to the following is
displayed:
Dump completed (539104 bytes sent)
If the transfer appears complete but no message is displayed, press Enter until the
message is displayed.
5Type AT and press Enter, then type at@q uit (case sensitive) and press Enter again to
restart your DIVAT/A.
