Using the deskjet control panel (DJCP)

Some software manufacturers do not develop printer drivers for their MS-DOS®programs. The deskjet control panel (DJCP) can allow you to gain access to certain useful printer features when you are printing from DOS. The DJCP utility allows you to do these tasks:

zAdjust print settings. (Printing using special features is not supported.)

zSpecify the default printer from your DOS program.

zSet the symbol set for the language you are using in a document.

Note that changes made to settings in your DOS program may override changes made to the same settings in the DJCP.

To install DJCP

1Make sure the printer is set up and that the printer is turned on.

2Insert the Starter CD into the CD drive.

3At the DOS prompt, type the letter of the CD drive and press ENTER. For example, type D: and press ENTER.

4Change to the directory to drivers\dos\<language>\, where <language> is the language you prefer, and press ENTER.

5Type install and press ENTER.

6Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.
