HP J4100A 10/100Base-TX Print Server

Supported Links

HP J4100A JetDirect 10/100 Base-TX print servers support 10 or

100Mbps operation in full- or half-duplex modes. In most cases, full-duplex is supported when the connecting network device— such as a network switch or hub—supports IEEE 802.3u autonegotiation specifications.

When connecting to network devices that do not support auto-negotiation, or that implement non-conforming link negotiation, the print server will configure itself for 10- or

100-Mbpshalf-duplexoperation. For example, when connected to a non-negotiating 10-Mbps hub, the print server card will be automatically set to operate at 10-Mbpshalf-duplex.

If the card is not able to connect to the network through autonegotiation, you can manually set the link operating mode using link configuration jumpers on the card.

Link-Speed LEDs

The HP J4100A print server provides 2 light-emitting diodes (LEDs) near the RJ-45 connector. These LEDs indicate the operating link speed of the print server, either 10 or 100 Mbps.
