Step 2. Prepare a Location for the Printer
Place your printer on a sturdy, level surface in a well ventilated room. The environment should be stable, with no abrupt changes in temperature or humidity and no exposure to direct sunlight or chemicals. See the figure below for the suggested amount of space to leave around the printer.

Make sure there is adequate space for:
∙Opening top cover (A)
∙Opening Tray 1 (B)
∙Loading Tray 2 (C)
∙Extending rear output tray (D)
∙Accessing On/Off button
∙Opening cable and power cord doors
∙Removing the side panel for installation of memory or language SIMMs
