This section provides the basic instructions for copying. Standard paper sizes are automatically detected when the document is placed on the scanner glass or loaded in the ADF. You can override the

To make copies by using the default settings
1Place the document face down on the scanner glass or in the ADF.
2Touch Copy.
3Press START.
Copying by using
Use the following procedure to can change the settings for your copies.
To make copies by using settings other than the default settings
1Place the original face down on the scanner glass or in the ADF. On the touch screen of the graphical display, do the following:
2Touch Copy.
3Touch Original to view the options. You can select Basic options or Advanced options.
4Touch the Basic items that describe your original. The following options are available:
•Paper Size: Select the paper size of your original.
•Orientation: Select Portrait or Landscape.
•Number of Sides: Select 1 or 2.
•Content: Select Text, Photo, or Mixed.
5Touch the Advanced tab to view your options in the Advanced screen. The following options are available:
•Heavy Paper: Select On if your original is heavy paper.
•Job Mode: If you are combining multiple scans into a single job, select On. (See Using Job Mode.)
6After you make your selections, touch OK.
