Launching a Task
It is possibleto have many tasks open at the same time, although some tasks may require complete
control to avoid possibleconflicts. The tasks achievecomplete control by keeping the task as the
center of operationuntil you close the task window.
To launch a task:
In the SSU Main window, double-clickon thetask name under Available Tasks to display the
main windowfor the selected task.
Or,
Highlightthe task name, and click on OK.
Or,
Use the taband arrow keys to highlight the desired button, and press the spacebar or <Enter>.
SEL Manager Add-in
Clicking on the SEL Manager Add-int ask brings up the Server Event Log (SEL) viewer. Youcan
load and view the current SEL data storedin the BMC,save the currently loaded SEL data to a file,
view previouslysaved SEL data, or clear the SEL.
When the SELManager is first invoked, it loads the System Event Log entries fromthe server. If
there are no SEL entries, a message box is displa yed.
The SEL Managermain window is based on a multi-column format. AllSEL entries are displayed
in this window,one system event per row. Each columncan be sorted by clicking on the column
heading. Theevent number is tied to the particular event even if any other column sorts the list.
The followingkeyboard keys are used to scroll the event columns. The F4 key shifts the event
columns left, while the F5 keyshifts t he event columnsright.
The SEL Manager has the following menus:

File Menu

The File menu has the followingoptions:
Open Opensan SEL data file for viewing.
Save As… Savesthe currently loaded SELdata to a file.
Exit Quits the SELViewer.

SEL Menu

The SEL menu has the following options:
Properties Displaysinformation about the SEL. Thesefields are display only.
Clear SEL ClearstheSELentriesfromtheNVstorageareaandfromtheSELManagermain
window.
Reload Reloadsthe SEL entries from the NV storage area.

Help

The Help menuhas the following option:
Help Topics Dis plays the help information for t he SEL Manager Add-in.
