Using Word Mode

T9 Text Input software replaces conventional multi-tap text entry, enabling users to compose text messages with only one key press per letter. Since each key on a telephone keypad has more than one letter, pressing the number 5 could represent “J,” “K,” or “L.” T9 automatically compares users’ key presses to a linguistic database to determine the correct word. For example, entering the word “call” into a wireless phone takes just four key presses with T9, compared to ten using conventional multi-tap entry.
