6.8.2 Defining the IPSec VPN Remote Configuration

Use the IPSec VPN Remote tab to configure the DNS and/or WINS Servers used to route packets to the remote end of the IPSec VPN tunnel. The Remote is also used for defining the IP address range used within the IPSec VPN tunnel and configuring the user authentication scheme for user permissions within the IPSec VPN tunnel.

To define the IPSEc VPN remote configuration:

1.Select Security > IPSec VPN from the main menu tree.

2.Click the Remote tab.

3. Refer to the Configuration field to define the following information.

DNS Server

Enter the numerical IP address of the DNS Server used to route information to the remote

 

destination of the IPSec VPN.

WINS Server

Enter the numerical IP address of the WINS Server used to route information to the remote

 

destination of the IPSec VPN.

Apply

Click Apply to save any updates you may have made to the screen.

Revert

Click the Revert button to disregard any changes you have made and revert back to the last

 

saved configuration.

4. Click the IP Range tab to view the following information.

Index

Enter the index assigned to the range of IP addresses displayed in the Starting and Ending IP

 

Address ranges. This index is used to differentiate the index from others with similar IP

 

addresses.
