Chapter 3: Using Wireless Scanners with Furniture Wizard 31
3.7 Re-tagging Items for Sales or Markdown - Tag Floor Function (Selection 3)
The Tag Floor function in the scanner Main Menu (Selection 3) allows you to retag items
for sales or markdown. The scanner stores a list of items you picked, and Furniture Wizard
uses that data to quickly generate new tags. To select, perform and complete this function,
do the following:
1. After logging on to the scanner, press <3> (Tag Floor), followed by the
<Blue Enter>
key.
2. To scan a bar-coded item and capture data, point th e top o f the sca nner towa rds the bar code
label on the item that is being retagged, and then press the yellow Scan key beneath the
information window, making sure the red laser light is beaming across the bar code.
The red button above the information window lights up when the scanner is in the
process of capturing data.
A single beep indicates that the item has been recorded.
A double beep indicates that the item is part of a package.
3. Scan each item that is being retagged. In general, the memory in the scanner unit is
sufficient to store captured data for several hundred items; it will easily store all the required
data for virtually any retagging situation.
4. To view more information about the item, press the Scroll Right key below the Backspace
key to scroll right, and the Scroll Left key below the ESC key to scroll left.
5. Press the Backspace key to return to the single item view. The most recent item viewed is
displayed. To display a different item, return to the list mode by pressing the Backspace
key and use the arrow keys to select the item you want to view.
6. After you have completed scanning of all inventory items that you want to place on sale,
simultaneously press the <FN Alpha> and <0> keys to transmit the captured data to
Furniture Wizard. The transmitted inventory data automatically appears in the On Sale
function in Furniture Wizard (Figure 44). You can only access the On Sales function by
clicking On Sale in the Inventory function.
