CLEANING

Cleaning the scanner’s glass

When one or more vertical lines appear on transmitted copies or faxes, follow these steps:

A

Open the scanner cover by pressing the release button (A).

B	Clean	the transparent scanning
	Clean	the transparent scanning
	glass (B) with a soft lint-free
	cloth	slightly dampened with
	water.
	Close the scanning cover.
	Make a copy in order to ensure
	that the symptoms are gone.

Cleaning the machine

Dust, dirt and paper debris on the outer surfaces and inside the machine can interfere with machine performance. Clean the machine regularly.

Caution - Use a soft cloth to clean the machine. Never use abrasive or corrosive detergents. The fusing assembly can become very hot during operation. To avoid injury - do not touch. Wait for at least 10 minutes after the machine has been turned off and make sure that the fusing assembly has cooled before cleaning the interior of the machine.

Cleaning the outside of the machine

Clean the outside of the machine with a smooth cloth.
