This command specifies or modifies the host name for this device. Use the no form to restore the default host name.

Syntax

hostname name no hostname

name - The name of this host. (Maximum length: 255 characters)

Banner

These commands are used to configure and manage administrative information about the switch, its exact data center location, details of the electrical and network circuits that supply the switch, as well as network administrator and manager contact information. This information is only available via the CLI and is automatically displayed before login as soon as a console or telnet connection has been

established.
