LCD messages

The following messages are displayed on the LCD when the fax is performing a function or encounters an error. The error code appears in the activity report (see p. 7-7).

Set your fax to the setting that matches your telephone line (see p. 2-6).

Contact the receiving party and have them check their fax machine.You can try to send the document using manual sending (see p. 4-4). For long- distance call, add pauses to the registered number (see p. 4-8).

SOLUTIONS TO

CARTRIDGE JAMMED The cartridge holder cannot move. This is normally due to a paper jam.

The scanner unit may not be in the fully upright position.

Clear the paper jam or whatever is obstructing the cartridge holder and then press [Stop] and start again. Do not attempt to move the cartridge holder manually.

Press the document release button, then gently move the scanner unit to the fully upright position.
