There are several methods of dialing the receiving party’s number, depending on how your fax is set up.

Regular dialing

One-touch speed dialing (see p. 4-5)

Coded speed dialing (see p. 4-5)

Directory dialing (see p. 4-6)

Voice dialing (see p. 4-7)

Sending documents

Direct sending ________________________________

1Load the document face up into the document tray.

See Loading documents, p. 3-2.

You can set the scanning resolution and contrast (see p. 4-1).

2Dial the receiving party’s fax number.

Use one of the dialing methods described in this chapter.

TEL= 3456xxxx

3Press [Start/Copy].

The fax begins sending.

Press twice to send immediately.

n• If an error occurs during sending, the fax beeps intermittently for a few seconds and an error message appears on the LCD. If this happens, correct the error and then press [Stop], then try sending the document again. See LCD messages, p. 9-15.

The fax automatically redials if the receiving party does not answer or if the line is busy. (You can specify the number of times it redials; see AUTO REDIAL, p. 7-3.)
