3Check the developing assembly spacer for toner adhesion or deformation. Is toner noted on the portion (photosensitive drum surface) where the developing assembly spacer comes into contact?

4Is the development bias applied normally?

5Make reduced copies, and check them against copies made in Direct. Is the problem noted at different positions?

YES Clean or, as necessary, replace the developing assembly.

NO	Re-insert the developing
	assembly; then, check
	the wiring.
YES	Check the scanner.
NO	Check the feeding
	assembly.
